return

I'm back! In all my glory! Sanity nearly restored, if that is possible.

Superficial banter:
My hair is a shiny brunette, though I briefly considered finding out whether blondes do in fact "have more fun", I decided to stick with my natural color and asked for a clear glaze rather than a hefty dose o' peroxide. Are other (happily) dark-haired chicas ever tempted to do this? Or am I the only one? Despite my diva-like qualities, I don't like the idea of upkeep because I'm a perfectionist and roots kill me. Its all I can do to maintain highlights and lowlights.

Why are all the 'good' names taken when you sign up for an email address or messenger name? I regard my birth name as somewhat unusual and it is always taken! I guess I'm not special after all. *sniffle* But I do have gmail now, which satisfies my need to catalog and organize everything.

PS - I'm counting the hours until the Indian lunch buffet tomorrow. Whee! :)

Deep reflection:
I'm not the first or the last to ask this question, but what is "normal"?

It is mildly scary to imagine living without power. Not by choice as the Amish do, but as the result of major devastation. Think about that! If you actually relish the idea of a simpler time, I suggest turning your attention to the following novels: Alas, Babylon! by Pat Frank; The Stand by Stephen King, or something from this list http://members.1stconnect.com/anozira/SiteTops/resources/fiction.htm
Though I'm willing to wager if you spent hours in the Florida heat without air-conditioning you'd be thanking your lucky stars for the miracle that is electricity.

PS - On the flip side, some technology intimidates me, and I'm not usually one to back down from a challenge.
